ABLE AEROSPACE EXPANDS SERVICES TO INDIA MARKET WITH DGCA APPROVAL

Reflects focus on global expansion and access to company’s MRO capabilities

MESA, Arizona (September 14, 2017) – Able Aerospace Services, a subsidiary of Textron Aviation Inc., a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, has earned certification by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) of India to provide a wide spectrum of repair, overhaul and approved replacement parts support for rotor- and fixed-wing aircraft registered in India. For Able, this includes high-quality, cost-saving maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) solutions to operators of Airbus, Bell, Boeing, Leonardo and other major aircraft platforms.

“Able has an immense catalog of repair, overhaul and parts solutions that hold approvals by many airworthiness authorities,” said Able Aerospace Services Quality Manager Paul Pfaffenberger. “We are proud that this now includes approval by the DGCA of India and we’re already working to bring Able’s advantages to this growing market.”

“With DGCA certification, Able can establish trusted local channel partners and quickly expand parts and repair resources, allowing Indian operators and maintenance teams to access our solutions easily and at some of the industry’s most competitive prices,” added Able Aerospace Services Business Development Manager Jason Lindauer.

Able serves commercial and military customers in more than 60 countries with a broad platform of airworthiness certifications that, in addition to the DGCA, include the FAA, EASA, CAAC, JCAB, Thailand DCA and ANAC. The company is an approved Bell Helicopter Service Center, an Airbus Helicopters and Leonardo approved repair facility, and holds International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001-2008 and Boeing’s AS9100 and AS9110 certificates of registration.

Able operates from a 200,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art headquarters and maintenance facility, where a team of more than 450 mechanics, engineers, sales and service experts provide extensive in-house capabilities. This allows Able to complete more than 95 percent of all jobs on site. Some of these capabilities include electroplating, chemical processing, machining, grinding, NDT testing, hydraulics and bearings services, and painting.
